Kwanzaa is a made up "holiday" originated by an ex-con named Maulana Karenga. He claims that this "holiday" is based on African traditions, but no one in Africa has heard of this holiday & they don't celebrate it. Karenga offers this "holiday" as a black version of Christmas, which is ridiculous. As a former Black Panther, he fails to recognize that Christmas is for everyone regardless of race. There is no real significance of Kwanzaa. It's something Karenga used to give himself credibility and unfortunately many people have fallen for it. Even Hallmark cards. sigh...
