What is kwanzaa and how do you celebrate it?

How many people actually celebrate kwanzaa?

  • I asked this question because there were none in the kwanzaa section and I was just curious to know how many people celebrated it

  • Answer:

Was invited once. Refused the invitation. I don't celebrate holidays which serve to glorify only a single ethnicity. Also one cannot compare Channukah or Christmas with Kwaanzaa. It is possible for anyone to become a Jew or Christian, since religion is a choice. Kwaanzaa you have to be born black. One cannot convert to become black. Hence the very purpose of the holiday seems ripe with racism and exudes black segregationism.

Who knows? I think its just another phony Holiday. If you are really interested try contacting the Hallmark Greeting Card Company and ask them how many cards that they produce for this Holiday every year. I believe that they produce more cards for more made up Holidays just to sell cards than anyone. This should give you a good idea of how many people have any interest in this occasion.

I'd like to know also. The US Postal Service is issuing ANOTHER Kwanzaa stamp (in 2013). WTF for? It is such a minority within a minority. Just use the EXISTING stock of K-stamps. Lord knows the USPS doesn't run out of those. I'm NOT predudice. If the USPS issued St Olav's day stamps every chance they got I'D ***** about THAT too!!!

Some black churches have their congregants celebrate Kwanzaa. However, some view Kwanzaa as a holiday created to separate people rather than unite. The article below is written by a black pastor, Jesse Lee Peterson, who is against Kwanzaa.

Any celebrations where Majority people feel that Black people are associated with will always be criticized. Not just Kwanzza, but MLK Birthday, Senator Barack Hussien O'Bama running for Presidency, Black History Month, Hipp Hopp and Rapp Music and etc. Someone out of place will always find fault. No one complains about Hanukka, or any other invented holiday. If anyone is curious about how many people celebrate Kwanzza should take it to the Poll & Survey Section. People that say they are curious (I say nosy) about Kwanzza don't really have an interest in it. All they want to do is fish for criticisms by linking false information to believers. People will believe anything negative when Blacks are involved.
