When is Kwanzaa? How do you celebrate it?

all of you that said your white and its a black holiday, you all are ignorant! Its not a holiday specified for one race but dominated by One race. So you both are uninformed. That would be discrimination if things were like that. And Kwanzaa starts on December 26 and last til January 1. Its a really fun holiday:] Oh you celebrte it by lighting a candle for each day and saying the seven prinicples and their meanings. You have to be with fmily and celebrate with a party and foods. Charity is also a way we celebrate it. Giving back to your community. You dont really buy gifts you make them. Showing they come form the heart. But my family does both:]

It's Dec. 26 to Jan. 1st. No, I don't celebrate it yet since I haven't been organized. I don't celebrate anything. I should have picked up the book on it at the bookstore in Oakland last weekend. Unfortunately, a black woman (who belonged to the Nichiren Buddhist group the SGI, which is supposed to be a religion of tolerance and acceptance) told me that white people are not allowed at Kwanzaa celebrations. I think that is bullcrap because the principles are unity, and all races belong to my community. Hopefully all black people don't think as she did. Once I begin to have the celebrate Kwanzaa all of my friends will be invited. I hope you find someone open and loving to invite you to a celebration (if you're interested).
