    No, the full eye can not be transplanted. The only part of the eye that can be transplanted is the cornea. Its a very kind thought, but the medical technology to fully transplant an eye to restore sight has not reached that point

That's sort of pointless. The thought it nice, but then you would need someone to donate to you, when they could have donated to the loved one in the first place. But no, you can't. No surgeon will remove perfectly good eyes from someone who is still fully alive and can see just fine. Surgeons will really only take organs from those being brain dead (brain death). Really the only organ they will take without the donor being brain dead, would be a kidney.
