How long does it take for an eye infection to heal?

Some infections are persistent and difficult to eradicate, especially a range of viral and fungal agents. Sometimes these can leave permanently marked corneas resulting in blurry vision even after the infection has been dealt with. If the infection is not rapidly settling periodic checks are required, and perhaps also microbiology tests (if this hasn't been done) to identify the organism, rather than just relying on the "shotgun" approach of a broad-spectrum antibiotic

I went to the doctor for pink eye. He gave me sulfa. drops and told me it would take about 7 days to clear up completely. You have to use the drops exactly as directed. It's been 4 days and my eyes are almost clear.
