Yes, we can see more up, down and sideways than men without moving our heads. Men's eyes are a bit like a horse's eyes with blinkers on. For some reason, men's eyes are built to focus well on things that are in front of them and to focus on those things in detail. Women are better at seeing things around themselves than men. Women's brains can't ignore the things around them as well as men when they need to focus on an object in detail. I don't know why that is though.

Probably depends on the person. I think women pay more attention to stuff around them, kinda their "maternal senses", you know? Men seem to be able to focus on one thing. Must have to do with the men using one side of the brain, women using two?

In a word, no. Differences in periferal vision occur mainly to do with facial features, not really the eyes as such. If you have wide set eyes in a slender face and they are not deepset, you should have good periferal awareness - because there is less "face" in the way. Also bear in mind to effect of long hair which won't help unless its tied back, and the effect of any glasses - longsighted people have a smaller field of view through their specs.
