There are ways to do fireworks using the television or computer. Parades and town picnics/activities are big in places where I have been. Things with a carnival-like atmosphere. You're in the US? order cheap goodies from Orientaltrading catalog. If you're not, they have a website: Orientaltrading.com. If you're not in the US, you might have to put .us at the end of that.
