Why do my eyes hurt when reading?

Reading small print can lead to more eyestrain and you should make sure you have decent lighting as well. it's normal it's just the muscles in your eye moving side to side frequently and when you move your eye up it hurts because of the particles in the muscles got stretched to that movement it tends to get stretching when your Reading for about 5-20Min's

Your eyes are probably just stressed out. Maybe not reading in the light. It truly isn't good to read in the dark, not like pitch black but you know what I mean. And I guess you might have just strained your eyes by playing a video game. Chances are you don't need glasses you just need to rest your eyes. :]

yes, you need reading glasses. the same thing happened to me so i went to the eye doctor and i now have reading glasses. they help alot.
