How to apply for a job at target?

If I apply for a job at Target, will they know that I got fired from another Target 4 years ago?

  • I really need a job, and I was thinking about applying at Target, but I know that they will ask if I have ever worked at Target before. I want to say no, but I technically was hired a ...show more

  • Answer:

You have to be honest because if they find out later they can fire you. They probably have your record on file at their main office, so while a manager at this location might not know it, they might raise a flag when your hire on papers get submitted if you get the job this time around.

You'd be better off applying to another store. Never reply to a company that you left on bad terms. It would be easy enough for them to check into before your interview. On the off chance that you do get hired, they can fire you for lying on your application if they found out.

when they fired some one it always goes on there permanent records so as soon as they pull your employment history they are going to know and wont hire you. past experience and there is nothing any one can do about it.

Well, most job applications asks- Have you ever been fired or let go in a previous position? So, you have to answer yes and explain why. They don't hold it against you-unless it's a serious reason. NEVER lie-they will find out and why lie? Just explain your situation.

Yes. They will put all your info in their computers and of course your name will pop up saying you use to work for them but at another location.

Technically, you were an employee. But you were not fired you were a no show, which technically speaking you quit. It will show up in their computers. Say yes, come up with a really good reason you didn't show up, parent/child sudden illness, had to go out of town unexpectedly, something along those lines. Also, it was four years ago, your older now, more mature, they may give you another chance. It won't hurt to try.

most likely you history is stored - probably like our Q&A as here.

you do know that your employment records are kept on the corporate level and keyed to your SSN, don't you? As soon as your DM keys in your new employment app your history will com right back up in the system... Your only hope is that if your dismissal details weren't kept up... But, they will most certainly know you worked for the company previously.... and whether or not they can find out why you left, it wouldn't be too hard for them to find someone that worked with you 4 years ago, to find out more about how you were as an employee.

Yes they will know, if they hire you they will most likely figure it out then when they get you signed up for everything, and have all your info logged into the computers trust me its happened to me with another company before. I am actually now going to be working for target. It is always best to be honest because they WILL find out!! Just be honest, and let them know why you did not return and maybe they will let you back on!
