I live in the US, so I'm not sure my answer applies since it appears you may be in Great Britain, but I wouldn't be surprised to get minimum wage, especially if this is your first job. The wording "up to" indicates that they have some discretion on what to set your rate at. Good luck! Your min.wage is more than ours in the States!

there is a reason why they pay 16 year olds minimum wage because they have less experience, some have less knowledge and ect. so what you need to do is show them that you're mature, that you have experience and that you're smarter that a regular 16 yr old..

Minimum wage is the same for everyone. On course different places have different rates but age is not a factor. the up to 6.00 per hour depends upon the position you get. I know that everyone does not do the same thing so the difference is in occupation..
