  • Answer:

M&S will almost certainly pay more than H.Samuel. In addition, you should get a staff discount card, that is definitely worth having. You also get to buy food and flowers at a fraction of the cost. My daughter worked there when she was studying for her degree and she liked it. They are good employers.

Work for Marks & Spencers where you can get more work and so will gain more working experience.

M & S because they are giving you more hours and probably more opportunities for advancement. Also, once you start with a company, they usually ask you to work some extra shifts, too, during holidays etc.

If your looking for experience then M&S will be the one for you. Honestly its one of the most stressfull and tough in retail check out there staff they about as happy as a penguin in the desert. I figure if you go there and you do well you will be ready for anything in the retail sector. Samuels i can't comment on as i never go in there. Good luck with it !!

M & S are better. They are a well known multinational company, probably pay more and would look better on your CV.

I would take the job with m&s as once your employed by them you get to progress your career further by training to be line manager or if you want to aim higher to become store manager. As for the job it can be very stressful but also very rewarding believe me I know i've been with them for the last 7 years, but its down to you at the end of the day however if you do decide to take the M&S job it is the second best paid retail job with john lewis been the best. Good Luck

M&S - but I can't back it up, it's just my gut instinct! You lucky thing to get offered 2 jobs! You obviously already have some very good skills. Whereever you end up, make sure you develop more skills that will take you up a level in your next job.

I worked for M&S until i went for career advancement. It's a great place to work for, I wish I could work for them and work where i am now, but then i'd work 7 days a week, too exhausting!! You get 20% discount on everything in M&S, bt bear in mind M&S is expensive anyway, at least in food. Also remember in H samuels, u'll be expected to sell things, so it depends on what experience u want, customer service- go for m&s, if sales (if u want to be a sales person)- H Samuel.would be better. You see had i had a more sales focussed job I would have been much higher up the career ladder where i work now.
