When is Easter 2009?

Easter 2009 - is there an easter parade in the New York?

• I love Easter (ok I just love chocolate) and I've heard of there being easter parades in some countries. Are there any Easter Parades in New York? Where can I see it if there are?

  When I was a child, I remember getting brand new light colored clothes for the Easter Sunday mass. The light colored clothes meant that we all could start wearing light colors and the dark clothes were out of season. I don't know if it was that Jesus (the light of the world) had risen or just a fashion statement. All the females also would get out their finest Easter hats hence the words Easter bonnets and proudly parade around town trying to outdo the other women so that all could say she was the finest lady which I believe became known as The Easter Parade. There's even an old, old song about this with the same name. As you can see, today that old fashion style of people wearing dark clothes only in the winter is out as people now wear light colored clothes all year round. There probably are parades in other countries, as people celebrate holidays different than we do. I really don't recall any parades as I was very young. I can only relate to what I remember and back then I remember Easter as one of the good old days. Peace.
