What do you answer with when asked whats your weakness in a job interview?

Answer:
Never advise that you don't have any weaknesses. That's a guaranteed way not to get the job because everyone has a variety of weak points. The best thing to do is to advise of a weakness that has positive aspects such as: "I have a tendency to become over focused or a little compulsive about getting something done right when I'm having a problem to the point that I'll spend too much time on that issue and possibly get a little backed up on other tasks." You could then mention that when that happens, I'll need to spend a little extra time after work or whatever to get everything else up to speed. That way, you admit your human, that you have flaws, but you still get to finish with a strong point that you are consciencious in that you'll do whatever it takes to fulfill all of your responsibilities.

At my last interview I was asked this question (along with what are your strengths) I stated that I worked to an effort of perfection which I felyt was a weakness of mine as this could prove to be quite time consuming. Whatever you state as a weakness always end the sentence with a strength. Ie I stated that perfection was a weakness but I have learnt to accept that this is not always possible to achieve

I would say I don't tend to focus on being weak.

I say that I don't like to ask for help.. Can be a good thing because it implies that I like to get on with things and that I'm organised, can be seen as a weakness because if I struggle then I fall behind on the work.. I also find it hard to say No... I take on a lot of things, but then struggle to find time to do it all in... I also say other things that I can turn around into a strength, ie. I get on with things and don't always shout about my achievements.

Whenever I get asked that question I try to answer it as honest as possible. I think they are looking at how you would handle a stressful situation at the worksite. Weakness can mean a number of things... such as not being able to say 'no'. That normally satisfy their question.

I am very detail oriented. Sometimes I take longer to get the job done, but my employers always like my work because I can get the job done well.
