Answer:
First she needs a job - anything she can get. The law overlaps so many subjects, a law degree should be useful. Then she should volunteer for Citizens Advice. That will give her valuable experience of dealing with people and will also make her highly employable. Local Citizens Advice Bureaux tend to have a lot of contact with local law firms and before too long someone will make her an offer she can't refuse.

It's very early days to be thinking about a career change. She should wait until her retake results are out and then re-assess.Not re-assess whether she stays in Law but re-assess what her law job options are and in the meantime keep plugging away. Please don't let her throw all that hard work away. Many more doors will open once her LPC is out of the way.

First she should apply for ANY kind of job she can get - even if that is BurgerKing. She just needs to get to work. Her past employer was probably telling the truth in that letter: there just isn't any work in the field of Law right now - reasons: very bad economy, today many people (mistakenly) think they can do their own legal work thanks to the economy, we have WAY TOO MANY lawyers right now...... We are in a RECESSION right now. There aren't any jobs anywhere!!! (Haven't you been reading the newspapers?) Warning: Jobs in the field of Law have been drying up FAST!!! There are simply WAY TOO MANY lawyers right now. And the law schools won't tell you this - the law schools keep churning out more and more graduates and we have WAY TOO MANY for today's demand and economy. But the law schools won't tell you this - law students are easy money for them. Idea/suggestion>>> Tell your daughter to try the field of Healthcare!!! There are LOTS of jobs there - even with your daughter's background! Good luck.

In my opinion it sounds like she'd be better off waiting for her retake results. No point in applying for non-law jobs before she knows she has got the qualifications. Insolvency law might be a good specialisation at the moment!
