You should have explicitly stated in what country you are. Some people are ignorant as to what a GCSE is and are too obtuse to notice the conspicuous flag at the bottom of your question indicating that this question was originally posted in Yahoo! Answers UNITED KINGDOM. (Although some people here have a history of getting up on their soapbox about matters that are irrelevant to your question even when they do know that it is not an answer to questions like yours. Apparently they have deluded themselves into thinking this is an opinion forum where they are entitled to derail any question as soon as the word "lawyer" appears in the question.) You can pretty much ignore answers that wax on about the employment conditions for lawyers that are in the United States. They are markedly different from that of lawyers in most other countries and in the United Kingdom in particular. The matriculation requirements are entirely different as are the market conditions and the work and pay expectations. They may as well have given an answer about how to become a lawyer on Mars. FA has given a very specific answer about his or her university's requirements which should give you a good general idea about what LLB programs look for in university applications. The only thing I would add is that the minimum grades required will vary from university to university, but presumably you will be trying to get the best grades that you can and they will be what they will be, so I would focus more on the curriculum (English, math and work experience). Happy Boxing Day!

You don't become a lawyer you study to learn how to starve to death............. Warning! Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!! This is not a good field to invest time and/or money into. This is a SHRINKING vocational field. Many reasons. Many people today think they can do their own legal work, thanks to the Internet. We simply have WAY TOO MANY Legal Professionals - we have an absolute GLUT!! ("Legal Professionals" includes, but is not limited to: Attorneys/Lawyers, Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Bailiffs, Court Reporters, etc, etc) Regarding being a Paralegal: Paralegals can be found in many types of businesses. Employers (usually law firms) in the field of Law want employees with BACHELORS degrees from traditional universities/colleges. Those "certificates" you sometimes see advertised, aren't worth the paper they are printed on - they are generally SCAMS. Even IF you finish law school, you won't be able to find a job when you are done. Since this vocational field is shrinking, many new attorneys/lawyers are, themselves, having to work "down" as Paralegals, Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Bailiffs, Court Reporters, etc, etc, to simply try to keep some of THEIR bills paid <THIS would be your competition. And the competition is FIERCE!! Now... the law schools know this, but they won't tell you the truth >that the job market/economy is SATURATED with WAY TOO MANY Legal Professionals. Instead the schools will feed you a fairytale and will LIE to you. The root of the problem is we have too many law schools. We are in a recession, and the schools are fighting for their own survival - they will tell students ANYTHING to get to the students' money. (Which is why they won't tell you the truth about the job market for the field of Law.) AND these schools continue to recruit and churn out even MORE Legal Professionals............. If you don't believe me, then just do a SEARCH here on Yahoo Answers to see what other posters are saying about the current status of the field of Law. In the book "So You Want to be a Lawyer? by Marianne Calabrese and susanne Calabrese (ISBN 0-88391-136-1): "The United States has more lawyers than any other country in the world. About 38,000 students graduate EACH YEAR from 200 law schools in the United States. The competition is very keen for jobs and clients." If you want a JOB when you are done with your studies, consider and look into the field of >>>HEALTHCARE! <THIS is where the jobs are! and scholarships!

Three A levels (A2) at grades ABB; other Curriculum 2000 combinations will be considered on an individual basis; six GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and mathematics. Equivalent qualifications will also be considered. Students may be interviewed. We take the whole application into consideration. We look for consistent academic records from GCSE onwards and carefully consider work experience, reference(s), personal statement and motivation to study.

My brother went to college ( U of M ) to become a corp attorney. Thankfully he he won a good scholarship. If your not sure what classes you need than set up an appointment with the consular to help you with your choices. Seems if your smart enough to become an attorney you would of already knew this.

First you must locate your soul, dignity, and self-respect. then beat the **** out of all of 'em. then throw 'em on the drive-way and run over 'em 4-6 times. then find a deephole and toss 'em in with some gasoline and light a match and run. Then go to law school and your set.
