Why on easter, we get easter EGGS, from the easter BUNNY, but bunnys DONT lay eggs?

The Easter Bunny is a mutation of an old Germanic myth regarding a magical Hare that the goddess Eostre (whom Easter is named after) had who had the ability to lay special eggs for the children one day a year, on the Spring Equinox. Long story short, the Germanic converts to Christianity brought this legend with them, and eventually the colored eggs that Used to be done to celebrate the equinox became chocolate eggs that where hidden then consumed. The date was also changed from the Equinox to Paschal(Easter). Long story short and, sorry, there is some religion involved here, but not the 'god' you seem to refer to.
