How can you tell where the Easter Bunny has been?

Can anyone tell me how the Easter Bunny is connected to Easter from a religious standpoint?

from my christian relationship view. its not at all related. the easter bunny is just like santa claus... a distraction from the real meaning of the holiday. people can say what they want but us christians celebrate easter at the time we do because that is the around the time jesus died and rose.

But some people say that the rabbit is tied to pagan rituals about fertility.
