Easter eggs--whats the significance.in wht way is it connectd to easter?

Happy Easter evry one!!

Answer:
Actually, it has NO spiritual meaning. It's like "Santa" and Christmas...no spiritual meaning. Not sure how or where it started (maybe by Hallmark or perhaps the dental industry?), but it's fun to color and hide eggs and watch the little ones face's as they find the precious goodies. The Easter Bunny and baskets have always been a part of my families traditions. So go hard boil some eggs, go to church Sunday morning and eat a ham dinner......then have the Pepto Bismol handy for all the tummy aches from eating way too much candy!

Easter eggs are a symbol of rebirth and fertility because of the idea of a chick within. The symbolizism behind eggs connection to Easter dates way back:

Spring, rebirth, fertility. Easter is a very pagan holiday, really.

Considering the fact that easter is a pagan holiday based on tradition, the eggs really have no significance to what the holiday is supposed to be celebrated for; the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Below is a brief overview of the origin of Easter. The Encyclopædia Britannica comments: “There is no indication of the observance of the Easter festival in the New Testament, or in the writings of the apostolic Fathers. The sanctity of special times was an idea absent from the minds of the first Christians.”—(1910), Vol. VIII, p. 828. The Catholic Encyclopedia tells us: “A great many pagan customs, celebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter. The egg is the emblem of the germinating life of early spring. . . . The rabbit is a pagan symbol and has always been an emblem of fertility.”—(1913), Vol. V, p. 227. In the book The Two Babylons, by Alexander Hislop, we read: “What means the term Easter itself? It is not a Christian name. It bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven, whose name, . . . as found by Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar. . . . Such is the history of Easter. The popular observances that still attend the period of its celebration amply confirm the testimony of history as to its Babylonian character. The hot cross buns of Good Friday, and the dyed eggs of Pasch or Easter Sunday, figured in the Chaldean rites just as they do now.”—(New York, 1943), pp. 103, 107, 108; compare Jeremiah 7:18.

Easter (Ostara) was a Pagan holiday that was hijacked by early Christians. That holiday was about fertility and the rebirth associated with Spring. Eggs and Bunnies are left over from these original traditions... just like lighting a tree at Christmas (Saturnalia)
