How can you make a natural pink dye for Easter eggs?

Do you dye eggs then use wax crayon?

  • Okay I just dyed my easter eggs and did i make a big mistake of not using the wax crayon before dying it or can it show up with dye already on it? Thankyou, Kayla

  • Answer:

If you use the crayon now and re-dye them, you'll be able to see the marks- but the egg will probably turn a yucky greenish brown. Yah, you should have crayoned them first. You might try decorating them now with Sharpies (permanent markers). Happy Easter!

The wax crayon has to go on before the dye so that the dye can't stick to the part where the wax was... it won't work after the fact. You might want to try non-toxic markers to draw on them now, or get new eggs and start over.

Use the Crayon first and your designs and drawings will show up after dying them.

Yes, you messed up. It's okay, just try again. You've got to draw the design or whatever on before putting the egg in the dye. The wax protects the egg, keeps it from soaking up the dye.

Definatley use the crayon first, I just did mine. I always do the name of each of my children on an egg, and then I decorate the rest of the egg with little hearts in red, or stars in yellow. They look very cute.

yeah, honestly

Been a long time but I remember you use the wax crayon before the dying.
