If Easter is the day Jesus was executed why do we celebrate easter today with bunnies and eggs?

It doesn't mix. The Easter Bunny and Eggs are from Pagan origins.

I think it has something to do with Spring, so their mixing the two. Since the resurrection happened, it is a "renewed" sense of life. Spring, is when new things come about and the earth is renewed so to speak. I think that's how the whole bunnies and egg things comes about. You just remember your life can come "renewed" during this wonderful time.

Because Easter is mixed with the pagans, and the pagans use eggs as a sign of fertility, but I don't know where the bunnies come in. Despite the pagan roots of Easter, we should always remember that Easter is the day in which Christ rose from the dead! Hallelujah!

I thought it took 3 days for the 'ressurection' ie, people are buried 3 days after death (usually) so if Jesus died on the 'Good??' Friday, surely he returned on the Monday so where does the actual Easter 'day' (Sunday) come into it? am i being thick?

This has been asked so many times today. Just search through. Tons of posts have been made to answer your question. Easter has nothing to do with Jesus. It's a Pagan holiday.

Haha I learnt this in French! Bunnies are known for reproduction and Easter is the day that Christ was reborn. We see eggs because again it symbolises birth but also the stone that blocked Jesus' tomb was an egg shape.

Good question. There is nothing in the gospels about bunnies and eggs, only that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after He was crucified
