Do you write a message along with your resume (when emailing it)?

a website is telling me to send them my resume, but do i just attach a resume and send it to them or should i write a message in the email along with it?

sometimes, if you don't want to send a cover letter or they don't require it, you can attach the resume. But, then, copy and paste the resume into the email as well. Saves them the time from having to open the resume and sometimes, they don't like attachments either.
