Getting hired through a temp agency?

If a temp agency finds u a job, will that hourly pay remain the same if u get hired permanent?

  • When I asked the dude at the temp agency, all he said was that the hourly pay was high b/c of incentive (?) Now if the company decides to keep me, will that hourly figure go back to ...show more

  • Answer:

If the company hires you permanently they'll be paying you instead of the agency. The wages the company pays you will be whatever their rate is for your position. I've done temp work for a number of years for Kelly in the past. Joyce is right to an extent. The agency doesn't take the money directly out of your check. What the agency does is charge the company an hourly rate that is their max for the position and in turn pay you a percentage of it. The agency will still be doing that as long as they are the ones paying you. Once the company starts paying you the agency can't legally continue to do that.

You probably would be paid more because the agency take a percentage of what the company is paying and you get a less percentage because of that. The agency has to make a profit.

In my experience, you usually get paid more if the company hires you on as permanent.
