It is hard to stay positive in hard times, but it is worth the effort to focus on getting a job. Cover letters are important to give your application a glimpse of your interest and personality. Trying to draft a cover letter when you in the dumps is really difficult. Take some time to gather your thoughts and do some research on the company(s) you are sending applications. Pick out some things about the company and the company products that interests you or that you like. For example, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is the event of the Christmas season and demonstrates the caring nature of the organization, the community projects and help to the less fortunate sets the standard for the retail industry, and I would like to be a part your team as we both value customer service. Don't lay it on too thick but take the opportunity to pat them on the back and give yourself a compliment. You may find that focusing on the research and writing will lift your spirits and it will get easier. Rejection is always a bitter pill, but it is not personal. I sent out over two hundred resumes before I got my first job out of college. Don't be afraid to apply to the same place twice if they post a new job or the same one again. It is a numbers game like the lottery, the more tickets you have the greater your chance to win. Good luck The Practical Mentor.

Look one up on word templates or google. Put in your CV and attach a cover letter that just says your CV is attached and mention the name or something about the company or job you are applying for so it sound personal. Say that 'as you can see from my CV I have the experience and qualifications you have asked for in the job listing' And that you hope you will be considered for an interview. Keep it one page, short . And ignore the rejections, it really isn't you - its probably they took someone they know on, keep going. Good luck ;)
