    It was always my favorite time of year but two years ago my mom died on dec. 11th so it definitly put a damper on the holidays. Now I spend it with my daughter who is 19 and my sister and her family who I am close to. I know albeit difficult cuz I miss her and my dad dearly it is important to make christmas special for myself and my daughter. I know my parents are with me in spirit. Last christmas I was sitting on the sofa missing my mother and crying. I looked up at the christmas tree thinking how much I miss her when the ornament she gave me dropped to the floor that read " Let peace be in your heart this Christmas" Yes, I cried more but with a sense of comfort. Christmas will always be that special time of year to me just different. Last christmas I had no money and was praying God help me I need to be able to make this a special christmas for my daughter. It was a week before christmas I still had no money for my bills and certainly no extra for christmas gifts. I was lead to go to the store and purchase with the last ten dollars a three digit lottery ticket I played it for ten dollars worth straight. Those of you who might play know that a three digit straight when it hits is $500.00 well I played $10.00 worth and won $5000.00 that night. Needless to say I was able to pay my bills and get my daughter some special gifts. Sometimes its tough waiting for that 11th hour miracle to come through but thank you God and thankyou mom. I did'nt spend a ton of money on my daughter that year as it was important to make it nice but I needed to heed my responsibilities as well. I cherish my time with my daughter and this year she lives at home again as last year she was in college and lived on campus and just came over. I already received my christmas gift from her this year because when she moved home again this june it was a gift that keeps giving.My favorite part of christmas is spending that quality time with my daughter. Goody! I thought i was slightly weird to be excited about christmas already at this time of year! Saying that i have halloween stuff already in the wardrobe upstairs! I love everything about christmas! From the lights, to the decorations to hearing the christmas songs on the radio! On christmas day i cook a breakfast for everyone, we open presents, chill in our pj's and then have christmas dinner with the queens speech followed by board games and helping the children. I love christmas, just wished we would get snow!

I love decorating the tree. It has always been my job since I was big enough to pick up a bauble (along ith my dad) It really makes my christmas to look at the gorgoues tree and know that I made it look like that :-) Also, I love being with my family and having a good time.

I love the run up as well. I start early and enjoy ever moment. On Christmas day, a big lunch with family and friends, and of course opening presents and simply enjoying the company and the day. Christmas is for children of all ages! (Whoever said that was brilliant!)

I like chilling out with my family and eating all the Christmas foods, My children who are Chloe, Jack and Zia are looking forward to it to, I love putting Christmas favourites on and decorating the tree with my family (but we have to put Zia on a stool because shes to small to reach a few things on the tree shes only 3). My eldest Chloe who is 7 goes on the computer and prints Christmas pictures of the internet so we can colour them in.My son Jack who is 5 likes to open all the presents Santa's bought him and we all go christmas shopping and get gingerbread and hot chocolate and sit down in the park with our dogs and munch and drink, i'm also looking forward to watching the cartoons an t.v programmes with the kids(mine loved Mr Scrooge last year) and Shrek the halls. i love christmas - my favourite part is watching my nieces and nephews open their presents - they are all still at an age where they believe santa brought the presents while they slept ( but i think this will be the last year for the eldest) i love decorating my house and all the preparation, buying wrapping, putting the presents under the tree, this year my partner is only home for 3 days over christmas due to work so will have to squeeze everything into 3 days. christmas day is either spent at my mums or at my house depending on work and other family arrangements, same deal wherever we are though, gifts - big dinner - laid around in front of the tv watching the children play with whatever gifts they got :-)

i totally agree with everything u have said having your own children at xmas is just the best i love buying there presents and talking about santa 2 them and the late night shopping in the cold and there faces on xmas morning (when santa has been) is just one of the most rewarding things 4 any parent absolutely love it..........
