The best position to start is as a receptionist at an office. But even that he needs to know how to use a computer. He needs to take computer classes. Go to a community college and take some classes. He needs to start at small companies while attending classes. After he gets enough experience (at least 2 years at the same company) then he can start looking for a new and better job.

Try small companies first. Look for jobs with Assistant, Clerk or Reception in their titles. If the unemployment rate is real low, she/he could try a temp service to get their first break. Unless you live somewhere with a high unemployment rate, then it would be tough to get a break even through a service.
