Answer:
My two boys have already woke up on Christmas morning to find a few little $1.00 items in their stockings, nothing under the tree, and a home made Christmas card because that was all we could afford. The important thing is they always knew I loved them and when things got better, they got more. Sometimes it's what us parents must do. I remember years when we didn't even feel like putting up the Christmas tree we were so depressed. My sons, who at the time were 14 and 9, put up the tree themselves and made the best they could of the situation. Strange thing is; I actually think they are better for it today. They learned how to appreciate what they have and that money truly doesn't grow on trees.

Christmas isn't about money. I'm sorry you are having hard times, but I must say that many people are in your predicament. That's not a help to you, but it might help if you realize you don't "make" Christmas. You and your sons will be fine as long as you are together. Find a little tree, or even a vase of sticks and decorate with things the children make. Paper chains are fun for kids to make. Give each other poems and stories you have written yourself. Your husband will be required to pay you some kind of support, so you will not be supporting your children alone. Perhaps your 15-year old can do some odd jobs in the neighborhood to help you get a few extra dollars together to go to a dollar store and buy some small items for surprises. You can make it work and Christmas will be wonderful. You have some time to save a dollar or two from each pay and that will be just enough for a family Christmas. Do you belong to a church? They will often help out. Just be together and love each other.

hey there, if i was your son ( referring to your eldest two ) i would tell them that you cannot afford to buy them expensive gifts perhaps some little ones just say ' i cannot afford a lot right now ' i have been raised to appreciate everything I am given. As for your other children except for Elijah ( I love that name very Christia as well as all of your names lol ) but I would buy 1 decent gift for them all to share. If none of this is possible then you can always have a ' family ' Christmas... reading stories, playing outside in the snow ( if u have any ), making things around the home, board games =] Good luck for this Christmas x

A lot of towns have an "Adopt a Family" program where you put down the sizes of clothing and the toys wanted and the community will donate the gifts. Try the chamber of commerce in your town.

The older five are old enough to know what is going on, understand and help make Christmas special for each other. Call them together, put your arms around them and talk to them about it. You could plan in advance to have a special meal together, read Christmas stories together, make presents instead of buying them, and help in a soup kitchen or find some other meaningful act of service to do together instead of focusing on your own wants. And the youngest will learn a beautiful new tradition that Christmas is about spending time together and helping other people rather than getting everything on a list. Good luck. I'm sure it will be hard to change tradition, but you have a chance to make a positive change! Go for it!

A dollar store?Much can be had for very little if you shop carefully.Flashlights, batteries, puzzle books, coloring books, crayons, clay, candy, for the youngest.T-shirts,aftershave,cologne,wat... for the oldest. They know and understand the situation.I once gave my children a popcorn tin from Santa. It was a big hit actually. Now go to your local churches they have program, get signed up early as so many are needing help.Goodwill,Salvation army, toys for tots, and your local food bank, you can get a christmas meal there and the money you save can add to your christmas.Blessings.

why has christmas got to be about gifts anyway. look at the true meaning of christmas. make home made gifts. or give each child a budget. say £10, and stick to it. you are in the same boat as many others this christmas. just thank god at least you have your children. others don't

Contact you local Salvation Army, Churches, and you county Assistance office. Contact them ASAP because some of the programs fill up fast. I wish I could do more to help but money is also tight for us as well. God Bless and have a Merry Christmas.

Just about every church now has a gift collection for those in need during the holidays. With so many sons, you might want to ask your local boyscout pack and troop to sponsor a small toy/gift drive for you. You might want to get your sons to help come up with ideas they can each help to collect and make for one another. Don't try and hide your difficulties from them; they'll appreciate your extra effort and hopefully won't become jerks later in life like their dad. Good luck.

You should not have had so many children. As there are children in the world who are actually starving I won't be giving you cash so that your sons can have an x-box.
