    The sad fact of life when it comes to job hunting is that most positions are already filled - the process of interviewing people and getting their hopes up is a farce. If you havent received the tap on shoulder the nod the wink ...pat on the bum - if your Mum Dad or Uncle Jimmy doesnt work for that company ... you are in with a uphill struggle. Dont let that put you off - keep looking..and do the best you can to sell yourself at interviews..

ahh don't worry, i had an interview on monday which i thought went extremely well, yesterday i got a letter saying i hadnt been successful. it was like a punch in the face. you never know you might have got it, writing to your references is a good indication that they're interested. if you dont get it write them a polite letter thanking them for the interview, that way they might keep you in mind when something else comes up

I think they said that because they have more applicants to interview. hang in there you'll probably get it. After the second interview you are definitely being considered. They had to have their little pow wow after you left to get everyone's input. Good Luck.

Yes. It does happen. You have to remember the company probably has work not getting done and has to find someone to do it, sometimes as soon as possible. You are competing with the other candidates and it may be that the others had a worse interview than you so there is always a chance.
