3 jobs. That's all they need. You don't want a 2 page or junkie lookin resume. They are not going to read the whole thing word for word anyway. Just look at the parts that matter the most and they will match it with your application. So you don't want to ramble for nothing. But 3 job and make sure they are all pertaining to the position you are applying for. No need to put a job working at mcdonalds if that was the last place you work if you are applying for a secretary position you know. Put your old secretary position on there, if you score an interview you can explain the gap and let them know yes you were employeed just not in this field.

Dearie, it is not the number of jobs on your resume that makes the difference, it is the wealth of experience you have obtained from the present ones. Anyway, for the record, it is not very nice changing jobs as it tells prospecting/future employers that you are volatile. To secure your job ,find out from your supervisor other areas were you could be of relevance, adding value to the organisation. Certainly the lay offs may be a cost reduction strategy, and if you could fill in on other tasks the better for your records with your employer. Then again, every work place has it's fair share of politicking, find out who holds the mantle, liaise with such, but ensure professionalism. All the best. Cheers

I would suggest just putting the most recent one and maybe the one before that. I think if you have had a lot of jobs it can make you look like the type of person who never settles. There is no need to include your full work history these days, as it is seldom read anyway. The most recent job you have had (i.e. this current one) is the one that will carry the most weight. Oh, and good luck with the hunt, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

What ever fits on ONE page. And I mean 1 page. If you start to get all wordy and include a lot of stuff that makes your resume expand to two pages then you'll need to condense it. I put the last 10 years on there but my resume started to get over 2 pages and was told I need to make it into one page only. when employers are inundated with about 500 resumes, you want to make your's short and sweet, no employer will take the time to read 2 pages mostly they will glance at it, if what they are looking for doesn't jump out within the first page they aren't going to continue reading to the second page. Conform your resume to fit the job qualifications you are applying for. If they are looking for a receptionist for example be sure to highlight any front desk previous receptionist experience. Good luck

when u say.. how many job is appropriate to list in ur resume.. means you have work with several companies.. if so.. u should list all the companies u've worked with... this will show that u've gain work experience with these companies and it'll be a positive advantage on your part.

That depends on age and experience. I would only put down jobs that show some time duration. For example: My company (fortune 500) will trash resumes that show lack of stability. Bouncing form one job to another to another with durations of less than a year isn't a good reccomendation. Show some work history 5-10 years but if the jobs are less than 6 months in duration that can hurt chances for employment rather than helping.

Mike

you should mention atleast 2 years in a firm
