How can anybody make a liven on a $8.00 an hour job?

    If you did not have the children, than $8.00 an hour is livable, I did it for a number of years even had a wife. There should be aid to help with the children such as food stamps. My question is are you getting child support? If not what are you doing to receive it. Also, there are programs to help single parents go to college to get a better education and a better job. Good luck, it is hard but shopping second hand and at discount groceries help.

Get an education - there are a TON of programs that make getting higher education not only viable but encouraging. This is the only solution. Best of luck to you!

I live in Michigan and I make 10 dollars an hour+ bonus +vacation time. I am 20 years old. I got this starting at a 7 dollar an hour job and working my way up.

Get those kids working. Kids need to know the reality of how much their parents make and when they are included in the financial workings of the household they are much smarter with money as adults.

Man that doesnt sound like much but I guess if you don't have the fancy stuff you will be ok but if you have kids that is different you would probably have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet. I know it is hard... The only advice I can give you is to talk to God he always comes through maybe not at our timing but at his just be patient and sit back and watch what he does don't give up or get discouraged just keep on asking just to let him know you have him in your mind that is the only way he works and tell him you love him for all that he has done. you have to do this everyday and night. I was kind of in the same situation now everything is good and I am very happy.God Bless U and Good Luck!!!

go to human services sign up for food stamps and medical go to the local food pantry i know its hard to ask for help ,when everything seems to be going wrong , but do it for your kids

Sorry that it's hard to make ends meet. I suggest you go to some local churches, and government assistant-type organizations and ask them for help. Sometimes they can help with paperwork to get you on food stamps, etc. They might help you look for better paying jobs and help you get job training to improve your career options in the next few years. It's tough, but people do it.

You are right !! $8.00 /hr isn't enough to live on unless you live @ home w/mom & dad & have no bills. But seriously you should turn to the state for some assistance. That's what it's there for & ask them how you're suppose to make ends meet on such a salary ?? They may have programs set up to help you learn a trade or something to that affect. The worse they can say is no & you won't know that unless you ask!!

yeah. well, i'm seventeen in oklahoma and i am the only one in my family of three with a job right now at minimum wage plus tips. by the way, minimum wage is $5.85 an hour. i make $400.00 a month if i'm lucky. our bills are about $1,200 a month or every two weeks not sure.. how the hell am i supposed to survive?
