Answer:
Well, I would certainly not do it. An accellerated BSN program takes a year and costs around $20K, but you wil be making a MINIMUM of $50,000 when you get out. A nursing assistant job still involves some training, but pays about $28K. I would certainly not want to become a nurse assistant as a career.

If you're interested in going back to school for nursing, then cna training seems worth it :) Regarding nursing, you may be interested in an associate (two-year) degree program for ADN. Please be aware that the nursing (and social work/counseling) field is supposed to have a high burn-out rate and that includes all levels of the industry including cna. If you're still interested in training, please forgo those private overly priced For-profit tech schools and instead consider the more affordable community college or even county vo-tech school as long as the program is accredited within the industry. General career info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can search 'psychiatric and nursing aides' or such. I agree with the first answerer, Rick! CNAs only get a starting salary of 8-10 dollars. you could just work at starbucks instead! ....and we can all agree that you did not get a bachelors only to get paid minimum wage. the one year accelerated nursing program is not bad if you're really dedicated. something tells me you're not passionate enough to be a nurse. you also , if you have not already.,need to do a year of prerequities in anatomy, microbiology and physiology
