CRNA ...no doubt because they have the greatest autonomy by far. You will have to have a BSN (with good grades 3.5gpa), RN license, then do 2-5 years of adult ICU. You can then apply to school and it will take you 2 years of full-time school to get an MSN or MSA (Master of Science in Anesthesia). Coming out of school, you will make about $130K-$175K a year. I have a friend that is a CRNA and she makes about $200K/year and works 4 days a week 7am-whenever her cases finish (around 2pm). You learn the same techniques that MD anesthesiologists learn and you give anesthesia the same way (only you get to school for less time, you paid less for your education, and you get paid less). You will do epidurals, blocks, general anesthesia, etc. It can be boring. See if you can shadow a CRNA and spend a few days with one. Putting patients to sleep and waking them back up doesn't involve a lot of patient interaction. And keep in mind that some RNs make in excess of $100K a year, and you would have a lot more patient interaction. However, the autonomy that CRNAs have is unmatched. They can work for themselves and even bill Medicaid/care and insurance companies and be directly reimbursed.
