Do you have any advice on becoming a CNA?

In becoming a CNA or HHA can you only work for male patients?

    mo.....if you work at a home health agency or hospice, you will get the clients they assign you. The travel radius for home based care agencies have can be huge, and your assignments will be based on the location of the patients. In a nursing home you are not going to be able to avoid caring for female patients. The majority of patients in nursing homes are in fact women. I am slightly curious how you thought you could care for a female patient who needs assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) without making sure you have appropriately provided peri-care? That is the major role of HHA's and nurse aides.....providing personal care. HHA's go out and give baths, etc. Those are the reasons a HHA would be assigned a case, etc.

I've worked in three different grouop homes (same company) and I've worked with both male and female clients. If a client needs help in the bathroom or to change clothes for example I can only help the male clients.

Nope. You would get shown the door very quickly if you requested that.Why on earth would you sugn up for a CNA course if you think you would only care for men? Do you even have a clue what the job entails? CNAs take care of a general patient population.Expecting to care for only males is ridiculous.Being a CNA means providing personal care for both sexes. Maybe you need to find another career.
