  Some Community Colleges have courses and they may be cheaper. Do all of it thru a School as online will require you to do clinicals yes--but you have to find th ePreceptor and usually they get paid by you. Most of the time it is very difficult to find these ppl so it holds up finishing school. Don't do any of the fly by night offers as they are scams and Dr offices won't trust you as a real Professional and you won't be. Too much is riding on you correctly Coding a Bill for payment and handling the billing aspects. Contact the Dr you have as your Care Provider and speak to the Office Manager if you can meet w/ the Ppl doing that job in their Office--tell them why and see if you can interview them about this--schooling, job, if they like it, what they do, upside and downsides, salaries, job opportunities ... Ask for Contacts and talk to them as well. If there are organizations they know or belong to (all Professions usually have 1 or 2) that rate schools maybe they can help you as well. Cost should not be the only factor--Quality Education that will lead to a job is important as well as satisfaction. It is a lot of study. You can help by starting to learn Medical Terminology as you will have to take it for your Degree. Learn it now w/o pressure and it can help later. Best success
