Start somewhere as a receptionist...preferably some job that can link to the medical industry. If not, get a receptionist gig anywhere to gain some experience and then transfer over to medical work.

Are you foreign by any chance? My dad has a PHD in Physics, and got a grant to go to a top University but aged 56, has been unlucky in finding a job because he is a Muslim, and is called Mohammad. A friend of his suggested he go to the actual work place where he wants to find a job, with his job application and CV in hand, because with a foreign name it's hard to find a job here. I hope you find a job! Good Luck
