    Being a MD is going to be much more financially beneficial over all the years you practice. I can't even imagine the PA coming close - even after paying off your medical school loans. Sure, being a PA is a great career, but there's no comparison financially between being a PA and being a MD. If you are intellectually capable of being a physician and able to be accepted into a medical school - you really should find a way to do it.

You are kidding? Right? The amount a doctor earns is exponentially larger than anything a PA could earn over a lifetime. The cost of med school is irrelevant in comparison. Not to mention being your own boss, in control of your own career, and able to call your own shots.

YOu make the cost of med school back soon enough. It matters, but most people decide its worth it. For most people, the deciding factor is what they get into (many people have PA school as a backup if they don't get into medical school since they have similar undergraduate requirements), or how long they are willing to go to school. PAs will go to school for something like 6 years, doctors go for 10+ years (8 years of schooling, a few years of residency where you work crazy hours and make peanuts). It depends on you. Go to college and start taking the science courses. If you love it and get into med school and think you think that you could do it, go for it. If it is just too much, then go for PA school.
