Not supposed to be too many jobs for the MA (or medical biller/coder). There should be a lot more openings for the cna as it's a very stressful job both mentally and physically dealing with patients that are combative and confused and trying to care for their personal needs (activities of daily living/ADL's) and transferring them from bed to wheelchair and such. If interested, please find a program at the local county vo-tech school or community college (perhaps non credit course) as opposed to private $$$ career schools. General info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and search 'medical assistants', 'nursing, psychiatric and home health aides' or such. US colleges: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ

I would go with CNA. You will get a lot more exposure to patient care in a hospital setting and working side by side with RNs will teach you a lot. Most hospitals have tuition assistance as part of their benefits package. Good luck to you.

i have worked within the medical field for 30 years and i will suggest that you go into medical assistant instead of cna. it will allow you more time to study. my fiance is an RN.BSN ACLS. she makes grand theft money and she can go anywhere and get whatever shift she wants and whatever money she wants.
