What is the difference between medical assisting and practical nursing?

What is the difference between nursing and masters in nursing?

  • i'm applying for scholarships and the option for nursing comes up in nursing and master's in nursing? what is the difference?

  • Answer:

First, a masters degree usually comes after a bachelors degree, so except for some very specialized direct entry nursing masters programs, unless you have a bachelors degree, you are not eligible for the masters programs. Then, for the most part, masters nurses are not bedside nurses. They get a masters to: 1. teach 2. be in administration 3. work in advanced practice roles (CRNA, clinical nurse specialist, NP, etc).

Dont apply for the masters in nursing scholarships because masters is a degree. You have to have a BSN degree first as a RN to then apply to a Masters in nursing program. You want the scholarships that are for NURSING students. Most likely 1st year or 2nd year nursing student (or whatever year you are going into).
