If you are a nurse, tell me what you like/dislike about your job?

Helping people -good. Job security - good(they can't afford to fire you) Working your shift and then having to stay and work someone else's - bad. Working free overtime to write charts - bad. Taking crap from: families who think you're not doing enough; patients who think you're not talking to the docs; management to do more; other nurses who are slower because you're making them look bad; other nurses who are faster because you're more work for them - bad. Being on your feet 12 hours at a time - bad. Calling docs who won't listen, then they come in a sweet talk the patient - bad. Oops! more bad than good. I guess that's why I don't do it anymore.

i had nursed for thirty years...sorry babes i dont advise that you even get started on that one...nursing has changed so much nowdays...bring back the old fashioned matrons, then you knew where you stood..and so did everyone else in the hospital. It was called cold fear.
