What is the appeal of Associates Degree in Nursing?

What accredited college will allow me to obtain an associates degree in nursing while serving overseas?

  nursing degrees REQUIRE hands on experience with nursing tasks under the supervision of the faculty. It is possible that you might be able to take prerequisite courses via U-Maryland UC like other service people and have them later transfer to the place where you'll get your nursing degree. BUT, the remainder of the nursing program will have to be done while onsite at/near the college offering it. Nursing licenses are issued by the states and their requirements vary. Some states offer a nursing license to those with a two year degree from an approved school [community college] while others require a BSN degree in order to get a license at all. You're going to have to do the research with the state licensing board(s) to find out what their requirements are -- fortunately, I think all of that is now online. There's no reason why the US military's facilities in Japan, if they're reasonably close to your location, can't be the location where your hands on practice occurs -- AND, I suggest asking such military hospitals directly if and which nursing schools are running programs on site. {That I do not know of any doesn't mean they don't exist -- and there may be a very limited number of them.} GL
