Can I work in a care home?

People that work as a care assistant in a nursing/care home can they work there way up as a qualified nurse?

    You have to go to an approved school to be able to sit for the boards. While the assistant work is good experience you can not work your way up to a nurse it requires school and a license.

No. A Nurse is an accoutable and registered post. You can gain qualification that may allow you to enter nurse training but there is no way that you can "work your way up to a registered nurse.

In order to be a nurse you must go to nursing school. You don't specialize in a certain area of nursing until after you graduate. A Bsn in nursing takes four years. If you are in the US you can get an associates degree in two.
