  • I was curious to know how much RN Nurses make on a average? Whata re the pros and cons of the jobs available in that feild? Hospital vs Dr. Office? I am considering going back to ...show more

  • Answer:

Long term care, aka nursing homes, pay the most money in a facility. Dr. offices pay the least. Traveling nurses make the most money of anyone. A doctor's office offers more normal hours and a slower, more relaxed environment. A hospital is hectic and fast paced, but also very rewarding. Nursing homes are somewhere in the middle of both, although RN's typically hold office jobs there with the bedside care left to LPN's. Travel nursing allows more freedom and the ability to set your own schedule. It all depends on what you're looking for out of nursing. There's many possibilities.

My sister is a nurse. She's told me that nursed can make between $45,000 - $70,000 a year, depending on where you live, experience, etc. The bad thing for her is that she has to work some crazy hours and it can be a very physical job. She has some really bad back problems after years of nursing and being on her feet all day.
