  • Ok so Im currently a junior in college, my current major is Nursing (BSN) however so far Ive already failed one of my nursing classes (patho), since being in nursing school I'm ...show more

I have to be honest with you, because I think you should already know this. If you can't make it in nursing (an undergrad program), what makes you think you will make it through the dental school? It's a doctorate level - technically a medical school. By all means, you're not the first person in nursing school who have failed a class. Retake it, and set your priority right. If you were not studying hard enough, stop what you were doing during your off hours, and study. I am a school nurse at a large university that has BSN program. When I was working at another school (also had BSN program), those students who GOT INTO the program usually made it through. Some didn't because they goofed around, and I hope you're not one of those. Best wishes

Hi. Well, firstly - "Which one would YOU choose" ? You're the one who will be doing it for the rest of your life or until you hit a crossroads later in life and want to change to something else. I don't mean to sound harsh.,.but YOU have to step up and make your own 'adult' decisions. You should go by your gut instinct...don't take shortcuts. Just because schooling is shorter does not mean it is better for you. Plus in these times you need to know the jobs are out there. At the end of the day, people need nurses in hospital and dentists for their teeth. If you are not too sure about nursing..can you take a break to really think about it ? Just because you failed on subject DOES NOT mean that it is the wrong one... You just need to put some effort in and study more. Just from guessing...Nursing most probably covers so many areas to branch out afterwards if you want to go further. You may find you would like to be a specialist nurse and work in a nursing home, cancer ward or children's hospital, be a occupational therapist, social worker, etc of study more to be a doctor, pharmacist or paramedic. There are also other options with working overseas..for overseas experience. To be happy as you have to live with YOUR decision...just make sure you are not doing something because your parents or anyone else has decided THEY want you to do. Good luck...

Both would be amazing jobs but both have their downfalls. Just think, what would you rather take care of: Nursing: -Dying people -Ill children -Cancer patients -Mortuary duties -Bed pan duties Dentistry: -Bratty kids -Punched by bratty kids -Mouldy teeth -Bad breath -Crying children
