Is it hard for a RN with a associates degree to get hired?

Smart to become an RN and then earn your BSN later. You can even do some BSN programs online after becoming an ASN! Usually the ASN grads have to work as an RN in a nursing home or rehab center. So apply to jobs in those places after you graduate. Well actually it is best to apply to jobs just before you graduate.

I don't know anyone who finished a RN degree at a CC in 2 years. It is not possible, especially in California. First you have to take the prerequisites which will take about a year to a year and a half depending on what classes you took in high school, and your entrance level. Then you apply for the wait list. At my school it is an expected TWO years! So you are already looking at 5 years. Might as well just go to a four year school. A 2 year college is cheaper in cost of MONEY no doubt, but it will cost you TIME.

You can get hired easily but also there is no much difference in salary range. But when "BSN Preferred" condition will be there at that place it will be difficult for you to get hire. But if you have skills and passion about your work, there will be no difficulty in getting hired in hospitals.
