What are certified nursing assistants (CNAs) qualified to do? Where can they work?

I have been a CNA for 9 years. I have worked in Nursing homes and also a drug rehab hospital. You can also do home health care. I really like the job and my residents, but is is really hard work. A lot of people start there and then quit, because they don't realize what all is required. At the nursing home You are basically taking full care of elderly. Some can not do anything for themselves. You have to feed them, change them, bathe them, put them in bed, get them up . . . there is NEVER a dull moment.

The supply trends are probably different unless you also live in a 3rd. world country like Texas, but that too can give you an idea.

you could work weekends at a nursing home, rehab hospital, or hospital. You get to bathe, feed, dress, make beds, and record in charts- depending on the facility. You have to keep track of input and output--urine on some patients. You have to keep the utilities room clean, and sanitary. Some patients will require you to do ROM with them- range of motion exercizes. Congrats on your willingness to help others- you will be blessed.
