Is nurses assistant job really that bad; I will soon be out of a job and am considering taking CNA course?

It depends on where you work as a CNA. If you are a home health aid for folks that are still reasonably able to take care of themselves, and just need a helping hand, it can be very rewarding. However, I worked as a CNA at a nursing home in the unit that housed the neediest patients. Most of my day was spent dressing, cleaning, feeding, and taking residents to the bathroom followed by perineal care. And for the residents who were vegetative, cleaning stool and urine from their bodies. It was easily the worst and most depressing job I ever had. The pay was also very low, lower even than many jobs that require no special training. But if you think you can handle the difficult parts, there are certainly many people out there that could use your care and support.

Its not that bad!! Alot of people I know love it! You can get to know the patient. If you dont like to be around alot of different smells and you cant handle someone dying then its not the job for you

It is a type of job that does a lot of personal care. Job duties are similar to that of taking care of a baby. Clipping nails, wiping butts, assisting in bathing etc... It is not a job for everybody.
