I would say about 6-8 years of school...on top of the 1-2 years you completed for medical assistance

It's great that you know medical terminology, but You being a medical assistant is not going to help you in becoming a physician assistant. You need to research whst schools in your area have a PA program and follow what their guidelines and requirements are. Most schools require you have completed a bachelors degree completed two years of biology and chemistry a microbiology lab and lecture class, Anatomy and physiology lab and lecture class Two years of English Into to Computers class statistics class, etc.

I think there is an Associates Degree program in Miami that you can become a PA with, if you can get accepted. But usually PA is a Masters Degree. So you would need a Bachelors Degree which would generally take three to four years if you went full time and were able to get through the chemistry classes ( principle I & II, Organic I & II) calculus, statistics, physics, and whatever other classes are required. I am sure there are some BA degree programs out there still but am not sure. The licensing board site would have them but I forget the name of it.
