There are associate degree programs out there but many hospitals prefer BSNs. However, if you are skillful you can find ways to make yourself stand out. I graduate in December and I have had job offers from an ICU, an ER, a neuro floor, and a step down in two hospitals. I made an effort to make myself competitive though and that's why I have job offers lining up a month before I even walk. Also, most ADN programs transfer. There are tons of schools that accept associate degree programs and there are many public state colleges that transfer easily. THe issue is when you you go to a private school. Aim to find one a school that is accredited by the NLNAC (or whatever it is now) if you look for associate degrees and one that is accredited by the CCNE and preferably NLNAC for bachelors.

Yes, it does.

don't trust answers here. you need to make sure with the 4 year college that they will accept the credits from that 2 year college. some of the best colleges won't. call the 4 year college and ask. first look up and print the full 2 year program and the classes with details.
