What can i do with a medical office degree?

Is there an online school I can enroll at for Medical Office Assisting? Also, is that a degree or certificate?

    I would be very wary of those 'online schools' such as penn foster, stratford career institute and university of phoenix as they are for-profit schools and most employers don't view them as reputable compared to community colleges, major colleges or univ's. And just a word to the wise, I've heard on here that there are not too many jobs for medical assistants, but perhaps one can get another job in a similar field such as medical records clerk(?) Most medical office assistant programs award certificates upon successful completion. Perhaps your local county community college offers such a program and online courses too. You may want to look at the non-credit courses as they may have the medical office assistant course as well. Your local county vo-tech school may also offer the course but not necessarily online. I know a lot of schools offer many classes online, but I don't know if you can earn an entire degree or certificate online (if you can, it will either probably be very expensive or it may not be legitimate.). I suggest going to a community college near you and just discuss the options. See how much can be completed online. I know the community college I go to has a day care and they will watch your children while you are in class (and there's no additional charge). It doesn't hurt to talk to sombody about it.
