    I am a freshman in nursing school. It took me forever to get in. I find that it is VERY HARD on your mind and body. You have to study non-stop. I dont have time some weeks to even wash 2 loads of clothes. I sleep about 4-5 hours a night. And after all of the studying, you still miss questions because they are not like any other class you have EVER taken. the questions are tricky and riddle like. Even if you studied and know the material, it doesnt guarantee you will make an "A" like other classes. The answers to the question maybe be all correct, and you have to chose the best one, which sounds easy, but belive me it is not!!!! And the grades in my nursing classes are all based on the tests alone. Everyone I have met in their fourth semester has told me that they have:gained weight, lowered thier GPA significantly, gotten divored, started taking anti-depressants and one woman even had a heart attack. So I try to stay focused on the future.But honestly, I stayed strung out and nervous all of the time about tests and skills check offs, and people tell me it really never passes until you graduate. So if you want to be a nurse, you have to REALLLY earn it. It doesnt come cheap, you lose a lot of life while your in school. The good news is I havent EVER met a Registered nurse who regrets it!!! And God bless evry person who evr made it through my program, because I now know what they went through and they deserve the respect, dignity, and the higher salary for their sacifice.(of thier life for two solid years)

The difficulty of nursing depends on the person, but most people I've talked to find it intense. Though major colleges offer nursing programs, there are also some community colleges that offer nursing programs. The community college in our area has affliations with a couple different hospitals. There is a lot of opportunity in nursing so I would recommend looking into it. Best of luck to you

The nursing school im enrolling in requires not too much. You just need to be a science buff and really like it. If you have all your pre recs ( college math over a 100, gen bio, gen chem, english 101, speech 220, psych 1 & 2, Human ap 1 & 2 and MICRO......) should be pretty easy. Some programs require you to continue in chemistry for 120 and 131 ( courses numbers are subjected to change), Then you kiss saturdays good bye for clinical, take classes on aids,pharmacology, lots of conversions for medications. Really not hard because all the course work backs off another class or clinical your taking, just study hard.. Also prior before entering make sure to study for the pre nursing entrance examine. touch up on lost skills. For example the TEAS test is a popular one. There is a two year college program to look at. This program gets about a little over 200 applicants a year and accepts 50 of them.
