I know that nursing degrees are hard, but is it hard to get into a nursing school after finishing the prereqs?

I did all my prereqs at a community college. Since I got straight A's and then applied to a BSN program, I got accepted straight away (in California). My classmates that had grades that were less than A's had a long wait, though. When my husband's work led us to NY, I had to transfer schools and once again the straight A's really helped get me transfered.

Should be no problem as hospitals nursing homes and clinics all over the country are crying for trained nurses. If you can, go for the "RN", it pays the best and is in demand. Around here, in Ohio, a RN is going for around $30. to $40. and up per hour, plus benefits. Good luck.

it's hard to get into nursing school, but easy to find a job once you graduate. it's hard to get in because there aren't many nursing seats at colleges. it's like this because there aren't enough nursing professors (they take a pay-cut to teach instead of using their masters/phd for nursing). however, since they're aren't many nursing seats at colleges there are only a few nurses compared to the number of jobs. it's fairly easy to find jobs.
